The Balearic Islands are one of the main sailing areas in Spain. Mallorca has a wide range of anchorages and services, from Palma’s large port to quieter bays on the north coast. Menorca is known for natural harbors and short passages, making it suitable for relaxed cruising. Ibiza and Formentera offer clear water, protected anchorages and easy navigation between islands.

In August, a solar eclipse will be visible from Spain, with best visibility from the Balearic Islands. Sailing during this period allows crews to observe the eclipse away from city light and obstructions, especially from anchorages or while offshore.
